God Will Not Let You Down

I just got word that a second pastor from my former church has been arrested. This means that as I type this, 2/3’rds of my former pastoral church leadership sits behind bars.

And God sits on His throne, just as he has through out all of time.

Of one thing I’m certain, He's working on behalf of you and I, to bring truth and justice, even when we feel discouraged or think things will never be made right.

Not that sending one to jail really ever makes things right. Nothing can undo the terrible crimes inflicted against trusting people, seeking spiritual refuge in The House of God. But when people’s actions actually catch up with them, one can’t help but feel a sense of righteous vindication.

Of course many crimes go unpunished, and many things are not set right in our lifetime. My former pastors aren’t locked away for any of the things they did to me or my family. But what I know is that God knows the truth. He will not be mocked. And He will not withhold eternal justice because He is just—it’s His very nature.

My friend, whatever your story or circumstance, rest in the fact that God knows. He saw every painful moment. He is working on your behalf now, to rescue you, heal you, and restore you to be what He’s created you for.

This is perfect justice and God will not let you down.

Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Good timing on this post as it encouraged me today. I need a continual reminder that righteousness and justice are the foundation of God's throne, especially in a world where it appears evil prevails. God urges us throughout His Word to trust Him, rest in Him, praise Him, and wait on Him, while knowing He will not let injustice go unnoticed. I hold onto your words, "My friend, whatever your story or circumstance, rest in the fact that God knows. He saw every painful moment. He is working on your behalf now, to rescue you, heal you, and restore you to be what He’s created you for." Thank you for this truth!
